Hey guys, I’ve been trying to figure out how to make a Highlight on Instagram. I know it’s that feature where you can save your stories so they stay on your profile instead of disappearing after 24 hours. I see other people have neatly organized Highlights with covers and titles, but I can’t seem to find the exact option when I post a story. Do you have to set it up while the story is still live, or can you go back into your archive later and create a Highlight from older stories? Also, is there a way to customize the cover so it doesn’t just use one of the story images? I’d like to set mine up cleanly for different categories like trips, food, and events.

Hey, creating a Highlight on Instagram is pretty straightforward once you know where to look. You don’t need to do it while the story is still live—Instagram saves your stories to your archive by default (unless you turned that setting off). To make a Highlight, go to your profile and tap the “+” button in the Highlights section right under your bio. From there, you’ll see your story archive and can select which ones you want to include. After choosing, you can name the Highlight and edit the cover. For the cover, you can either use one of the story frames or upload a custom image from your camera roll, which is how people make those clean icons you see on profiles. If you already have a Highlight, you can keep adding new stories to it. It’s flexible, so you can organize them however you want.

You can add Highlights from your story archive. Go to your profile, tap “+” under Highlights, pick your stories, and name it. Custom covers are possible—upload one from your gallery for that neat look.

Highlights are basically permanent folders for your stories. Go to your profile, hit the “+” in the Highlights section, and choose from your archived stories. You don’t need the story to be active anymore. Once you’ve picked, name it and edit the cover. Most people use simple icons for covers—just design or download one, then set it as the cover image. You can also add more stories to an existing Highlight whenever you want.

Go to profile → tap “+” under Highlights → pick archived stories → name Highlight → edit cover. Done. You can upload custom covers too for that polished aesthetic look.

You don’t need to panic about missing the 24-hour window. Stories are auto-archived, so you can make Highlights later. Go to your profile, tap “+,” and choose from your archive. Customize the cover to make it stand out.

Hi, just head to your profile, press “+” under Highlights, pick your stories, and name it. Add a custom cover if you want it polished.

Highlights are created from your story archive. Tap the “+” button under your profile bio, select your stories, and name the collection. You can change or upload covers for aesthetics. Once created, you can keep adding stories anytime.
