Hey everyone, I accidentally blocked a number on my iPhone and now I want to undo it. I know blocking sends calls straight to voicemail and stops texts, but I couldn’t find an obvious “unblock” button when they tried calling again. I’d rather not keep them blocked since it was a mistake. I looked in Contacts, but I’m not sure if I have to go through the Settings app instead. Also, does unblocking restore old missed calls or messages, or will it just work going forward? Any step-by-step directions would be super helpful since I don’t want to fumble around and miss something. Thanks in advance if anyone can explain the easiest way to unblock a number on iPhone.

Hi, I’ve dealt with this exact situation after blocking a friend by accident. Don’t worry—it’s easy to undo. You have two main ways: Through Settings – Go to Settings → Phone → Blocked Contacts. You’ll see a list of all numbers you’ve blocked. Find the number, swipe left, and tap Unblock. That’s it. Through Contacts – If the person is saved in your contacts, open their contact card, scroll to the bottom, and tap Unblock this Caller. Once unblocked, they’ll be able to call, text, or FaceTime you again instantly. Just know: unblocking doesn’t recover anything you missed while they were blocked (calls or texts don’t magically reappear). It only works moving forward. I recommend double-checking the Blocked list in Settings to be sure the number is cleared. After that, you’re good to go. Go to Settings → Phone → Blocked Contacts. Swipe left on the number and tap Unblock. If it’s a saved contact, open their card and hit Unblock this Caller at the bottom. The simplest method is via the Phone app’s contact card. Open the contact you blocked, scroll to the bottom, and tap Unblock this Caller. If you don’t see them saved, head into Settings → Phone → Blocked Contacts and look for the number there. Removing it restores normal communication. Keep in mind, any texts or calls made while blocked are permanently gone—you’ll only receive new ones from then on. Settings > Phone > Blocked Contacts > swipe left > Unblock. Or open their contact card and hit “Unblock this Caller.” Unblocking won’t restore old calls/messages, only future ones. You won’t find an “undo” button on missed calls. Instead, check your blocked list: Settings → Phone → Blocked Contacts. Remove the number there, or use the Unblock button in the contact card. After that, calls and messages will go through normally. Hey, just go to the contact card or the Blocked list in Settings and hit Unblock. It only affects future calls, not old ones. To unblock, you’ll need to either open the contact card or head into Settings → Phone → Blocked Contacts. Swipe left on the number and tap Unblock. Old texts and calls don’t return, but new ones will come through normally.
