How can you tell if someone is using Snapchat Plus?

Hey everyone, I’ve been hearing about Snapchat Plus and some of its premium features, like seeing who rewatched your stories or customizing icons. A friend told me they could tell when someone had it, but I’m not sure if that’s really possible. Does Snapchat actually show a badge or something when a person subscribes to Plus? Or is it totally private unless they choose to display it? I also saw some posts claiming you can figure it out by looking at their profile, but I couldn’t confirm. I don’t want to assume someone has it just based on rumors. Can anyone explain if there’s a clear way to know when someone has Snapchat Plus, or if it’s mostly kept hidden unless the user opts in?

There’s no built-in way to “spot” Plus subscribers unless they’ve chosen to display the badge. Snapchat added that star icon so people could show it off if they wanted, but it’s completely optional. I’ve been on Plus since last year, and none of my friends knew until I told them because I never enabled the badge. The exclusive features—like ghost trails or custom icons—are things only the subscriber can see. So basically, it’s either the badge or nothing.

Snapchat Plus users can turn on a star badge (✨) next to their name, but it’s optional. If you don’t see it, there’s no way to know—they keep Plus features private unless the subscriber chooses otherwise.

Hi, I’ve been using Snapchat Plus myself, so I can clear this up. Snapchat Plus does give you a way to optionally show people you’re a subscriber. It’s through a star badge (✨) that appears next to your display name. But here’s the catch—it’s not automatic. You have to turn the badge on in your settings, and a lot of people leave it off because they don’t feel like advertising it. So if you see that little star, yes, that person has Snapchat Plus. If you don’t see it, there’s no way to know for sure. Features like “story rewatch counts” or “custom icons” are only visible to the account owner, not their friends. Basically, Snapchat leaves it in the user’s hands. So unless they’ve enabled the badge, you can’t really tell—it’s private by design. That’s why you’ll never be 100% sure just by looking at someone’s profile.

The only public indicator is the optional star badge (✨). No badge = you can’t tell. All other features stay private to the subscriber, so it’s not something you can detect.

Snapchat Plus isn’t obvious unless the person enables the subscriber badge. Otherwise, you won’t see any sign of it. Don’t trust claims about “secret ways” to check—those are just clickbait. Only the badge reveals it, and it’s fully optional.

Hey, the star badge is the only sign. If it’s not there, you can’t tell. Snapchat designed it to keep Plus mostly private.

Snapchat Plus is discreet. The star badge next to the name is the only giveaway, but not everyone enables it. Otherwise, you’ll never see their exclusive features—they’re only visible on their account. Privacy is baked into the subscription.
