Hey, I just noticed some of my friends can swipe down their Control Center on iPhone and record their screen instantly, but I don’t see that option on mine. I know the feature exists, but maybe it’s hidden by default or needs to be enabled first. I’d like to know the exact steps for adding the Screen Recording button so it shows up in Control Center. Once it’s there, I think it’s just a matter of tapping it to start or stop recording, but I’m not sure how to actually add it. I’m on iOS 16 (maybe going to update to iOS 17 soon), so if the process is different depending on the version, that’d be useful to know too. Can anyone guide me through this?

I ran into this same issue when I upgraded my phone. The Screen Recording option doesn’t automatically appear in Control Center—you have to manually add it. Here’s how: go to Settings → Control Center. Once you’re there, scroll down until you see “Screen Recording” under the “More Controls” list. Tap the green + icon, and it will move up into the “Included Controls” section. Now, when you swipe down from the top-right corner of your iPhone (or swipe up from the bottom if you’re on an older model with a home button), you should see the little record icon—a circle inside another circle.

Tap it to start recording, and you’ll get a three-second countdown. The status bar or Dynamic Island will glow red while recording. Tap the same icon again (or the red bar at the top) to stop. The video automatically saves to your Photos app.

This works the same on iOS 16 and iOS 17, so no worries about version differences. Honestly, once you add it, you’ll use it way more than you expect—it’s super handy for tutorials or sharing bugs.

Open Settings → Control Center → tap the green plus next to Screen Recording. Then swipe down from the top-right and you’ll see the record button. Tap to start, tap again to stop. Video saves in Photos.

I didn’t know about this until my nephew showed me. Adding it is simple: Settings → Control Center → add Screen Recording. Then it lives in Control Center with other shortcuts. Once you hit record, your phone captures everything until you stop it. I usually use it to save quick gameplay clips or show someone how to navigate an app. Super useful, but remember it records sound only if you long-press and toggle the mic.

Go into Settings, then Control Center. Add Screen Recording from the “More Controls” list. After that, swipe into Control Center and the record button will be there—just tap it to start or stop.

To add it: Settings → Control Center → hit + next to Screen Recording. After that, swipe down for Control Center and tap the record icon. You’ll get a countdown before it starts. Everything saves automatically to Photos, so you don’t need extra apps.

Hey, just head into Settings → Control Center → add Screen Recording. Swipe down, tap the button, and you’re good to go. Saved straight into Photos.

Apple hides Screen Recording by default. You need to enable it: Settings → Control Center → add Screen Recording. Once added, swipe down to use it. A red bar shows it’s running, and stopping it saves the clip directly to Photos. Simple but powerful tool.
