Hi everyone! I’ve been hearing a lot about dark mode and want to use it on Snapchat, but I can’t figure out how to turn it on. I’m using an iPhone, though I know friends on Android sometimes don’t see the option depending on their device or Snapchat version. I mainly want it because the bright white background at night is killing my eyes, plus dark mode just looks way cleaner. I checked my phone’s system settings and I also poked around Snapchat settings, but I still feel a bit lost. Can anyone explain step-by-step how to enable Snapchat’s dark mode? Also, if it’s not available on some devices or regions, I’d like to know if there are any workarounds or tips. Thanks!

On iOS, go to Settings → App Appearance → Always Dark. On Android, it’s inconsistent. Some regions get it, others don’t. If you can’t see the option, your best bet is forcing system-wide dark mode. Hey there! On iPhone, the steps are pretty straightforward once you know where to look. Open Snapchat, tap your Bitmoji/profile icon in the top left, then hit the gear icon for Settings. Scroll all the way down until you see “App Appearance.” Inside, you’ll get three options: Always Light, Always Dark, or Match System. If you pick “Always Dark,” Snapchat will stay in dark mode regardless of your iPhone’s system theme. If you select “Match System,” it’ll follow whatever your iOS setting is (light during the day, dark at night). Now, here’s the kicker—on Android, Snapchat has been slow to roll out an official dark mode. Some devices show it in App Appearance, some don’t. For those missing it, people use system-wide developer settings or force-dark in their device options, but results can be buggy. So on iPhone you’re golden; on Android, it’s a bit hit or miss. Dark mode on Snapchat is easiest on iPhone. You’ll find it under Settings → App Appearance. The three choices (light, dark, system) let you tailor it to your liking. On Android, Snapchat’s rollout has been patchy. If you don’t see “App Appearance,” you’ll have to wait for the feature to hit your device. A temporary fix is enabling Android’s “Force Dark Mode” in Developer Options, but it sometimes messes with colors in the app. Snapchat’s dark mode isn’t universal. iPhone users have it in settings. Android users may or may not, depending on their version. If unavailable, try system-wide dark mode or wait for updates. Check your Snapchat version—dark mode requires an updated app. On iOS: Settings → App Appearance. On Android: mixed results, only newer models support it officially. If missing, try enabling dark theme in your phone’s display settings for partial coverage. Hi! Just head to Snapchat → Settings → App Appearance → Always Dark. If you’re on Android, you may not see it yet—updates decide.
